| Adorable Dog Needs Home | | Flash is an 11 month old American Pit Bull Terrier. He currently weighs 40lbs and will likely be around 50lbs when grown. He has a bluefawn brindle and white coat and very expressive ears.
Flash is an active puppy with a friendly disposition. He's a young, strong dog and yet very gentle, especially with children. He'll be your jogging and snuggling partner, he enjoys them equally. Flash is good with dogs, cats, and all people, children included. He is gentle on leash and responds to some basic commands.

| Timid Terrier Looking for Patient Forever Home | | Scooter, along with his mother and female sibling, was “dumped” at a park in Lago Vista on November 2007.
After being on the street for about 2 weeks mother and sib were trapped by the local animal shelter worker. After many trips to the park to leave food for Scooter, I was able to finally lure him to my yard and started the process of earning his trust. He has made a lot of progress, but still has a long way to go before he becomes a pet. He does sleep in a crate and is leash trained. He is very suspicious of humans and prefers the company of my dogs. Scooter needs a forever person who will give him confidence and training. He is athletic, handsome, and smart, but he cannot attain his potential in this family setting. I have two small (adopted from shelter) dogs, a cat that adopted us, and a 17 year old foster dog that belongs to an elderly neighbor that had to move into assisted living.
I understand the process of fostering dogs, but because of my age (77 yrs) and for Scooter’s well being, it is imperative that he be re-located. His socialization is limited and he is still very nervous. A perfect situation for him would be a single or retired individual interested in giving him all the time he needs to become comfortable and also willing to work with him to encourage him to trust more and give the love that he has to share.
Scooter is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.

| Loving Pit Bull Rescue Needs Forever Home | | Alize is an extremely sweet and loving dog. I rescued her about a year ago
after she was found in an abandoned trailer in Houston. She came to me
very thin, very sick, and very, very pregnant. Her 13 puppies were born
shortly thereafter, only 8 of them survived due to her horrible health
conditions during pregnancy. She was obviously abused, and very scared at
first. Over the past year, with lots of vet care and TLC, she has made
AMAZING improvements and acts like a completely different dog. She gets
along great with the other 5 dogs in the house (3 of my own, another
foster, and our roomate's dog), my cat, and our 2 children (ages 3 and 7).
She has NEVER shown any signs of aggresions towards any of us, even during
very stressful situations. She loves to cuddle and gives the best hugs!
Her favorite place is on the couch with me while I watch t.v. She is crate
trained and knows basic commands, and is getting much better on her leash.
She is learning to play tug-o-war and fetch, and to play wrestle a little too. She would do great
in any loving home, but will probably do best in a quiet home where she can
have lots of attention. Is a little timid at first in strange places, but
settles in quite nicely withing a day or two. Daily exercise (either walks
or playtime in a fenced yard) would be a must, because pit bulls are very
athletic...otherwise she is very low-maintanence. Does not require a lot
of supervision or time, and very minimal training would be required (just
to teach her the rules of your house, but she learns very quickly). She is
spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on vaccines, approx.
65-70lbs, about 3 yrs old and very short haired. She is desperately in
need of a forever home, as I have currently become unemployed and am having
a hard time supporting her and my other pets. If you are interested please
e-mail me at austin_angel86@yahoo.com.

| Updated 05-01-08 | | Sienna is one of the smaller girls in the litter. She is the cuddle bug of the bunch. After she eats and potties, she likes to crawl up in a warm lap for nice long naps. Sienna looks more like moms mix, maybe beagle. She is especially gentle with her siblings and people. She loves to give sweet puppy breath kisses. She is about 6 weeks old and will be ready for a new home in 2 weeks, after she is spayed on May 8th. Sienna has been socialized with different people, kids, and other dogs. Mom is a beagle/shepherd mix. | | mix, intact female, 3lbs | | |

| Just As Beautiful Inside As She Is On the Outside | | Saphire is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. She was found as a stray, so am not sure what her story is before we found her.
Saphire is extremely affectionate, hungers for attention from people, and loves to play with toys, her favorite being her Kong Toy. Saphire gets along with other dogs - those her size are the best. Saphire is crate trained, loves taking daily walks, and has attended basic training classes at Triple Crown. When really excited she does like to "mouth" at hands, yet that is easily worked on and trained. Saphire is currently taking medication to help her separation anxiety, however, there are ways towards getting her off of the meds. This is where a behaviorist, not a trainer, will be able to teach you how to work with her on the separation anxiety issue. Saphire is current on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and is microchipped.
Saphire cannot be outside unattended and being an outside dog is NOT an option. When outside, Saphire needs to be onleash,. Even in a fenced area she needs to be supervised. She has not been around children or cats, so we cannot say how she will respond to them.
Training is mandatory to teach Saphire's new family how to work best with her - she needs to feel comfortable that you are speaking the same language in relation to training. This will also assist with working on alleviating her separation anxiety.
Saphire would do best in a home where someone is not gone all day. This will alleviate her having to be crated all day and allow her to have company and work on the separation anxiety issue.
Whoever adopts Saphire will be a lucky family as she is full of love and just wants to be loved in return.

| Black is Beautiful | | This beautiful black dog showed up at my doorstep (literally) with a chain and a padlock around his neck. He clearly had broken the chains that bound him like a criminal and after I had to take him to a locksmith to remove the chain and padlock, there was no doubt in my mind that this friend wasn't going back “home.”
He is guessed to be 1-2 years old and has been neutered and vaccinated, gets along with other dogs (I have five of my own). He has been with me now for about a month, and I feel he
would prefer a smaller household. Please adopt this special guy and give him the loving home he deserves. Timothy at tverret@earthlink.net for more information. | | German Shepherd Mix, neutered male, 40lbs

| Loves Everyone She Meets | | This puppy came to me this recently (2/16) in the rain and no one has come forward to claim her. She is posted on the TLAC website. She is about 4.5 months old. We speculate she is a pointer-lab mix. I’ve gotten her first (I think) round of shots and got her dewormed and will apply flea and heartworm preventive tomorrow after I bathe her. We are setting up an appointment to get her spayed at ATA.
Most importantly, she is way too sweet. A very good puppy and learns fast. I’ve been crating her and she needs encouragement (as in I stick her front paws in the crate), but then goes right in and curls up. She’s learning not to jump – a bit difficult since she loves people so much, but she’s getting there. She pretty much is staying off the furniture and has learned to sit. She’s still in the house training process. Mostly, I’ve been pretty successful at anticipating her needs in that respect. Hasn’t needed out at night. Very eager for human approval and loves to cuddle. She gets along very well with my older dog. | | pointer/lab, intact female, 35lbs

| Fun-loving, joyful male seeking his other half | | What is white, wrinkly, wiggly, and spotted all over? Why, Petey the Sharmatian, of course! A Sharpei/Dalmatian mix, Petey is a fun-loving, exuberant, the-glass-is-half-full kind of dog. He is a smart dog that loves to learn new tricks, and with a great personality to match his unique appearance, he is sure to steal the spotlight. Petey would do well in an active household that wants a dog that can join them on walks, road trips, and other adventures. Although Petey loves to play with other dogs, he would be happiest as the only dog in the house so that his clownish antics can get the full appreciation and attention that they deserve. Petey is crate-trained, house-trained, gets along with other dogs (and cats with supervision). He is young (10-12 months), up-to-date on shots, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Contact Joy at piabald@gmail.com for an adoption application and more information. This dog comes with a gift of discounted training at the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior (www.lmccb.com), contact jane@lmccb.com for more info. | | Sharpei/Dalmatian Mix, neutered male, 52lbs | | |

| | | Clooney is a wonderful Pit Bull mix, approximately 5 years of age. Clooney was rescued off of a chain in East Austin. He was weak, emaciated, and in horrible condition. Clooney was found to be dying of heartworm disease. Despite his poor prognosis, Clooney has bounced back and is recovering from treatment. He is scheduled to be neutered prior to going to his new home.
Clooney would do best in a home without cats. He does well with most other dogs. | | APBT mix, neutered male, 55lbs

| Looking for Foster or Forever Home | | Mister Blue, 51 pounds, is a handsome Aussie/blue heeler mix. He's very dignified, with the softest eyes, nicest manners and gentle temperament. He was found in far Eastern Travis county; an area famous for dumping unwanted dogs. What makes Mister Blue so special is he survived the hard existence there and remained a kind soul. He also carries heartworms, so will be treated before he goes to a permanent home.
Blue is calm, quiet and really enjoys belly rubs! He squats when he pees, so we think he's about a year old. He's had a tough time at the shelter but he is a big favorite with the shelter staff. All the noisy dogs and the fact that he's housebroken, have made his shelter stay difficult. He won't tell us what happened, but he's got a gimpy back leg. The vet will take a look and let us know what is going on. We did have him around some kittens and he ignored them, so we think he is OK with cats as well as other dogs.

| Beautiful Dog | | Laci is an 11 month old American Pit Bull Terrier. She currently weighs 47lbs and will likely be around 55lbs when grown. She is pure white with glowing green eyes.
Laci has lots of playful puppy energy and a very friendly disposition. Although energetic, she is very gentle. She is a very social dog and greets every human and dog with a waggin' butt. | Heart of Gold | | PJ is an estimated 4 year old, male, 59 pound neutered black lab mix with a heart of gold. These pictures just don't do him justice.
His owner died 3 years ago leaving him to a horrible man that left him on a 6 foot chain outside with absolutely no shelter and barely any food. The neighbor of that horrible man finally convinced him to relinquish PJ to her so at least he could have shelter and see a vet. PJ has been seen by a vet and is now free of intestinal worms, on flea/tick preventative, up to date on his rabies vaccine, and is being treated for his skin and ear infections and heartworms.
PJ is expected to make a full recovery and should be good as new in the next two months!
PJ loves other dogs and loves people, including strangers. We're unsure of how he is with cats as my mother-in-law's cats want nothing to do with him. :) PJ also loves going for long walks, getting treats and just having someone pet him. He's happy just to have a yard to explore and someone to love him. PJ also passed the behavior test at the PAWS shelter in Kyle so he's a proven good boy | | lab mix, neutered male, 59lbs, Kind, sweet looking for a kind heart in return

| Friendly Dog Looking for Forever Home | | Buddy is such a sweet dog! He is working on basic
obedience. I was working on sit with him, so he
climbed up in my lap and sat. He is a character.
He weighs 61 pounds. He is heartworm negative, is up
to date on his vaccinations, is neutered. He loves
being around people (he was hanging out with the kids
next door - elementary school age - plus their three
dogs when we found him). He is cat friendly. He is
house trained. He is extremely alert, I have only
heard him bark when he is playing with mine - it is a
very playful bark, not mean at all. He loves treats.
He is extremely bright and seems to want to please. He
is not agressive at all - my Catahaula growled and
nipped at him, Buddy just walk away. | | Pit Bull Terrier, neutered male

| Sweet Maverick of Mine! | | Maverick is 3 years old, heart worm negative, and on preventative treatment, he is approx 85 lbs., neutered, and has only had 1 owner since the day he was born. His mother was my brother-in-law's dog, my husband was there the minute Maverick was born. He was the first one born hence the name, he was the Maverick of the litter! His medical record is completely clean and all his shots are up to date. He does jump fences so if he is going to be outside he would have to have a privacy fence. He very curious and loves to inspect any new addition to the house whether it be a bag of groceries or a new pair of shoes. He is a snuggle bug who refuses to lay on anything that is not squishy and warm, including piles of laundry. His 2 favorite past times are playing with his Kong which has lasted for 2 years with no damage, which he will throw in the air for him self and bat it all over the house, and sleeping with his owners (he likes to sleep with his head on the pillow like a person). His ears are the cutest thing ever, he cocks his head and pricks them up when you talk to him, he sits, lays down, and shakes. He is a wonderful dog but is not for anyone who is not home a lot, he has a lot of energy and needs to be played with, and not left alone all the time. He needs someone to love him as much as we do. | | APBT mix, neutered male, 85lbs | | |

| 18 week old Puppy | | Sunshine was found on the road near Manor by a nice lady on her way to work. Now she is with me until a good home can be found for her. She is intelligent, friendly with humans, and other dogs. Don’t know about other critters though.
Being a puppy means lots of playful energy but my Rustydog plays keep- away and tug-o-war to keep her occupied. She follows me everywhere and is starting to learn some basic commands. Sunshine gets a little anxious when separated from contact, probably because she was stored in a windowless room for several days before I came along. But that is improving also.
If you like an adorable small dog, then she just might be the one for you! | | Boston Terrier Mix, intact female, 18lbs

| Updated 05-01-08 | | Liberty has a beautiful red coat, with an adorable brown stripe down her back. She is a little shy when she first wakes up and quickly gets into the playing/tumbling sessions. She is learning that fingers and toes dont belong on her mouth. Liberty is a cute fun to watch puppy. She is about 6 weeks old and will be ready for her new home in 2 weeks, after she is spayed on May 8th. She has been very well socialized and gets along with dogs, kids and new people. | | | Boomer was found as a stray by his current foster who took him in, and to show his gratitude he tried to eat her cats! Oh well, nobody's perfect! He does not mess in the house, doesn’t understand what a leash is all about, you can tell he has never had any kind of training. He's a jumper dog, but his foster has been working on getting him to not jump on her and her son, and they've almost mastered "sit". He learns quickly and is very intelligent. When you talk to him he has this really intensely intelligent look on his face as if he really understands what you are talking about. He loves his foster's 9 yo son and his foster's son loves him. He needs to be an indoor dog, outdoors only under supervision. If the fence is too low, he could jump over it.
He gets along really well with his foster's female Catahoula/GSD. He does the cutest thing....if you walk past him without acknowledging him; he hops up and nibbles you with his front teeth. He loves to be hugged and kissed and thoroughly enjoys a good scrubbing wash--no squirming, he just stands there and takes it all in. At feeding time you can pet him anywhere and even pick up his bowl while he's eating and he just continues to eat...no aggressive behavior towards humans or dogs.

| Bella and her Pups - Sweet As Can Be! | | Hi!! My name is Bella and I am a very sweet pitt girl who had a tough life. My foster parents rescued me off the highway but little did they know I was about to have 10 puppies!! The doctor said I was in pretty bad shape, having worms, sarcoptes, and being heartworm positive, not to mention I was pretty darn hungry. But after 5 months of being here I am all better now. I would like a place to run and play and get lots of loving too, if you don't mind. I am great with children and don't seem to mind other animals, although my foster parents haven't put me around many dogs. Can I come stay with you?? I am kennel trained but I am not sure about "house trained" since I have been in a veterinary office for the last 5 months.
