OLD DOGS TEACH THEIR OWNERS LOTS OF NEW TRICKS

JONAH

What happens to the pet whose owner dies or is unable to care for him after years of service? Jonah was a nine-year old border collie when he was found on a country road emaciated and losing his coat and teeth from malnutrition.

Many rescue groups limit the number of older dogs they take in (and shelters freuquently euthanize) because people want to adopt or puppy or young dog, thinking that an older dog has nothing to give.

But anyone who has been around an older dog will testify to their tender dispositions and loving natures. Such was the case with Jonah, who was adopted by a Freescale employee who wanted a companion that would get along with her two elderly cats.

SUCCESS!!! Today, Jonah can run and jump with the best of them. He looks like a young pup, his coat is rich and full and his owner "can't imagine life before Jonah."
